Do you agree with Ayn Rand's Objectivism Philosophy?

Ayn Rand has projected her Philosophy of Objectivism through her very powerful books like Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead. I believe in this world her philosophy seems to hold water.

I don't know about philosophy and objectivism. I rather liked Albert Camus but I read Ayn Rand anyway.

yes, i believe in objectivism but only up to a point. i believe that man is important and hardwork should get it's due reward but taken to the extreme objectivism turns a blind eye on the value of a person's relation to the world. no man is an island and that in turn rlates that no matter how fulfilling your work is to your ego and your own self-esteem and self respect, it is not only your work or the product of your hardwork that defines you but also how you relate with those around you. self interest can only take you so far... i have read both the Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged and i love it both so much and agree whole heartedly with the Philosophy of it's heroes. but taking Objectivism as the Philosophy it is now, it is kinda at odds with some of the things i fiercely believe too.

I like it, but in today's world, practising the philophy that Ayn Rand advocates is quite difficult, however hard you try, there are some attributes of Toohey or James Taggart in most humans around you, and especially here in India, and ultimately just to live a lot of compromises have to be made by most humans. I like the speech about money not being evil, but that it represents human effort and have blogged on it on other forums, and even rasied a discussion about this on myLot, but the responses have been poor for that particular discussion, you could check up the discussions on my profile for this. All the best on myLot.

I am an objectivist, and it has worked for me till today. As for the people around I give the Rearden defence of no defence. People cannot hurt you unless you give them the permission to.

Ah! a million dollar question that. The philosophy of Objectivism itself is very subjectively interpreted.
