Mid-autumn Day is on August 15th in Chinese lunar calendar ! The international calendar is 19th september in this year !
So many foreigner are confusing that Chinese festival always change ,cuz all of Chinese festival were recorded by the lunar calendar rather than the international calendar !
Alright ,why Chinese have this festival or what is the meaning about it ?
Let me tell u the turth !
The August is the secend month during Autumn ,and 15th also the middle of August and the moon is the brightest and roundest in the whole year, so the ancients named the date is Mid-autumn Day !
As u know ,the round means completeness ,so family members will reunion to have a meal ,eat mooncakes and enjoy beautiful moonlight !
