What does “serene certainty” most probably mean?

serene means "peaceful, tranquil", then what sense does it make when collocate with "certainty"?
an untroubled and fixed outcome?

I would understand it to mean that the person believes in something absolutely and with complete confidence.
"I have a serene certainty that day will follow night."
It is not a common use of the words and would be considered somewhat poetic,
