Why are we so quick to judge the media? Why are there issues like media gag or censorship? Do we really have to impose on the media such stringent regulations pertaining to their publishing? The media can show us anything, but don't you think it is the responsibility of us as parents to provide guidelines on what is being watched by our kids?.They(media),are in business for the sole reason to create wealth and employment and in order to stay abreast, they have to create content that is compelling or revealing.
Do we have control to what our kids are watching? YES,but do we have a say to what the social media has in place for our kids? NO!.Am not saying that the social media is good nor is it bad,we just have to teach our kids how to sift ,if it's healthy, well,go for, with it and if it's bad, then learn something from it. So,stop blaming the media for the moral decadence in our societies, let's start by changing ourselves and stop blaming others. There is no solution in playing second fiddle,we have to take strides in influencing our kids positively.
The media is here to stay, from social to print media,so stop media gag, change is inevitable and you don't want it to by pass you.Media has both effects on us and our kids, both good and bad,but i do encourage in looking at the "good" side and try to change the "bad".

I agree with you. There's always going to be something that is printed or broadcast that someone finds objectionable -- the media can't please everyone. So, if you want to protect your kids (or yourself) from something in the media that you don't approve of, do so...but don't try to make that decision for everyone else as well.
