I am a student, and I do a part-time job. I've been suffering from inguinal hernia for 4 year, and it's getting worse now. when I search online, I got the information that it costs around $5000 for surgery. I don't have health insurance and can't afford the cost of surgery.I trying to get insurance this week but I don't know if the insurance covers the surgery or not.

If the surgery can wait until January, under the new Affordable Care Act, insurance is not allowed to be denied due to a pre-existing condition, so yes, it will be covered.

I'm sorry that you are suffering the disease. It really not a small amount of money for your surgery. But ask them. If the insurance doesn't cover the surgery, you still have to continue your surgery because health is more than anything!
