How many parents here still make it a point to read with your child? Stories during the day? Let them read once they start learning? Bedtime stories?
My kids and I read darn near daily... 6 out of 7 days a week anyway. But I feel like it's a thing of the past. Busy on facebook, playing with apps, doing whatever..... maybe I'm just hanging out with the wrong crowd?

Mine are well past bed time story age, but they did get read to. They have a great respect and love for books.

I made it a point very early on (like, under 2 years old) to read with my girls. I now have 3 adult daughters with a rabid appetite for books and knowledge. Two of them now also have children of their own that they read to and with. I don't think you can start reading too early. I say start as soon as they are born, it's a great way to bond as well as foster a love of learning in them
