I read this: "the severance and disestablishment of the Irish Church",I know little about the Irish Church and its background. What happened to the Irish Church in history?

Who did the "severance" and the "disestablishment"? A king or queen of England?
And what happened before and after the disestablishment of the Irish Church?
Is "Irish Church" also called "the Church of Ireland"? And has it anything to do with "the Church of England"?

Ireland is predominantly a Catholic country and the Catholic Church is the established religion of Eire ( = Southern Ireland). The Church of Ireland, however, is a Protestant body in Northern Ireland which is separate from (though associated with) the Church of England (which is the established religion of England with the monarch as its head). The phrase 'the Irish Church' may mean something slightly different, however, from the body known as "The Church of Ireland".
Understanding 'establishment' is rather complex. This article may help:
The Church of England (CofE) is not the established church of the United Kingdom. There is no established church in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

It's all Buddhism. ('following the enlightened ones' ... the church-fathers being 'the enlightened,' following 'the light' that is Lord Jesus Christ.)
