As per one of the surveys conducted by The Humane Society, around 4 million cats and dogs are abandoned by their owners every year. There is more than one reason as to why people leave their pets. Sometimes people start running out of time to take care of their pets, while others may develop certain types of allergies.
There may be times when owner passes away, or may move into a new house. Parents expecting a baby also sometimes feel that leaving the pet is the best option to devote time to the newborn.
Sometimes a person may feel that their pet has overgrown and they want a cute and cuddly animal, which could also be a reason why they leave them. But, each pet deserves a chance to live a good life and hence we have adoption shelters.
People often have a belief that it is difficult to tame animals found in such adoption shelters . However, that is only a myth. As a matter of fact, dogs that you would find in such centers are already familiar with the household surroundings, since they have undergone trainings and know basic commands. So it is much easier to get such pets used to your household surroundings.
The process of adopting the pet of your choice from one such shelter home is quite simple and easy. You may get the process done in a very less time. Depending on which agency you have contacted for the adoption, you may have to go through a little examination. The staff of these agencies may check you to find out your suitability for the process, to know whether you can take care of dog or not.
This may be done by making a visit to your home and your background to see if you can provide a comfortable living space for that pet. Your landlords may also be called up to see if they are ready to welcome the pet or not.
Upon completing all the formalities, you are required to pay a certain fee, which is quite affordable. Before bringing the dog home, don’t forget to get neutering surgery done!
In order to have a successful adoption remember to treat your new pet as you would treat a family member. To find a reliable adoption shelter near you, visit

For the sake of the joys, fun and pleasure they brought you in the past time, please find a good home for those pitiful, lovable pets before you decide to leave them.
If you have ever treated them as family members, for sure I think you will.
