Media More-&-More Tells You What You Should Think; Why?

An article in the Oklahoma Gazette (I link to the search for it on account of I don't know which 'storage' of it is more-permanent) complains that news-reporters are becoming more 'lesson-teachers' than 'information-announcers.'
I think a lot of it is under the influence of mass-public blogging, which gives 'one's understanding- & opinion-of a story' equal footing with 'the facts of the story.' In public (the FREE news), people's opinion of the story SHAPES the story. In broadcast-news, the reporter is paid NOT to give their opinion!
