All of us experienced childhood and with that we sure have memories that are memorable. As for me, I do have. When I was in kindergarten I always prefer myself as one of the boys because most of my cousins of my age were boys. I play tag with them, hide and seek, and even basketball. We live near a park that’s why when we start playing in the morning, we would probably just take a break in the afternoon for lunch and resume the game until it gets dark. I still play with them until I was in 3rd grade. Everything changed when my mother resigned from work and I have to stay at home and study. But this did not stop me from enjoying my childhood days.
When my mother resigned, my brother and I had to stay at home after school. But since our television was cabled, we just watched cartoons when we have free time. That’s when I got addicted to them, from Tom & Jerry to Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob. When I stepped to high school, that’s when I turned my attention to animes and mangas. Since I was into sports, I watched those animes that interest me the most. My favorite ones were Eyeshield 21 and Major, from season one until its 6th season. Of course, since I’m a girl, I can’t help but to be romantic. One of the memorable animes that I watched would have to be Bokura Ga Ita or “We Were There” in english. I could watch it for hundred times and I would still cry for Nana and Yano’s beautiful love story. An inspiring one.
Until now, I still watch animes and read mangas. Truly, old habits really die hard. If Japanese cartoonists would continue writing beautiful stories, I would probably just read and watch all the free time of my life. One thing was added to my interest though. I watch Hollywood series nowadays. They’re just so cool.
