Hi this my first time to post in MyLot.. Thankyou for my professor in English because of introducing this kind of website for sharing of ideas or experience etc.. I want to talk about happiness because this word derive in different meaning.. I want to share my own Definiton of happiness. :)
Happiness for me has a different aspect like you're happy because you bought that thing for example new shoes surely you will be happy but not at all time its just for a meantime because the real Happiness for me is when you feel that laughter, pleasure or Happiness is come from the bottom of your heart.
Generally we relate happiness to a person or thing or a particular situation or position which makes us proud. Like if we love anybody we are pleased to see him. He may be our friend, any relative, teacher, student, our pet animal or any person whose hobbies are similar to ours or we can say any living being. Similarly, getting something non-living like a watch, a camera, a particular instrument which we like to play most or some prize etc. makes us feel happy.
Likewise there may be a particular situation which makes us feel happy like playing some game, travelling beautiful places, eating our favourite dish, listening to some music or getting promotion etc. Thus, if we sum up, we can say that happiness for us is something which is related to our senses - to watch, to listen, to talk, to taste, to smell, to touch etc and the most important feature of the so-called happiness is that it is related to something outward whereas the real happiness is in ourselves. The pseudo happiness makes us happy for a particular moment or for some time. In other words, it is not permanent. All the situations described above give us a temporary happiness if we call it happiness anyway. But as I feel the real happiness has nothing to do with something outside. It has something to do with our inner self.
This is a permanent happiness whereas the happiness we get from outside becomes a cause of sorrow when we lose that person, thing, situation or position.

I think of happiness as a state of mind we can have anytime we wish it. Wishes though are fickle and I don't like to always admit it but I think it is true. I think we could get something given to us and not appreciate it as much as if we work or wish for it. Then we truly can hold hands with happiness like it belonged to us.
I had to look up the word pseudo because I forgot what it meant. It means false or fake and I agree we can be fooled into something not true.

Happiness is also very subjective. What might be considered happiness to you might not to me. So it is important we each find our own definition. And I'm glad you found yours.

The Pleasures Born Of Sense Contacts Are Are Source Of Suffering Only. Creative imagination is the core of happiness.
The outer happiness comes from outside and the inner happiness comes from inside.
This is the sure recipe for happiness not to have enough leisure to wonder whether you are happy or unhappy.
There is a difference between inner happiness and outer happiness that outer happiness temporary whereas inner happiness is permanent and gives eternal peace.
Thanks a lot.
