Why do people betray and ask for forgiveness?

Forgiveness is so overrated in these harsh times. We lose ourselves badly to betrayal and feel helpless. There is no one to reach out but our inner spirit. For we are our true masters of peace. We hold the torch of light. If we lose the light, the darkness prevails and consumes us. Forgive people for peace. But you won't be the same person anymore!

I will leave that to you jen. People who are strong willed will live and let live by forgiving. And some dwell on it too much for the reason why it happened in the first place. If you forgive your friend for talking bad things behind your back, will your friendship be the same after you forgive him/her?

@jeniar Yes. If you comes to terms and clear dark waters to bury the sour hatchets, then tainted friendships will re-kindle :-)

I like the one said by ? Mario Puzo, The Godfather
“Tom, don't let anybody kid you. It's all personal, every bit of business. Every
piece of sh_t every man has to eat every day of his life is personal. They call it business. OK. But it's personal as hell. You know where I learned that from? The Don. My old man. The Godfather. If a bolt of lightning hit a friend of his the old man would take it personal. He took my going into the Marines personal. That's what makes him great. The Great Don. He takes everything personal Like God. He knows every feather that falls from the tail of a sparrow or however the hell it goes? Right? And you know something? Accidents don't happen to people who take accidents as a personal insult.”

True that. You spoke righteous. I do love 'the godfather' in fact. It was not acting all along. They were legends. I am happy to see you get an inspiration to join marines. Kudos mate. I wish you well.
