Because if they do then you have to do God's will . Which is responsibility and people don't like to be responsible of anything.
The Hole Bible is full of responsibility, do this ,don't do that, say this .don't say that.
Of course we refuse to do it and it is easy to deny it .
Look at good people we killed mahatma gandhi, martin luther king, malcolm x, and even Jesus .because they speak the truth, and the Truth is Responsibility
“the good people, they always die. And the bad people do, too. But the weak people, the people like me... we have inherited the earth.” The Walking Dead Quote

Not exactly
God gave us a free will---the power of choice. True, we don't have any power over the consequences of our choices; which is why we trust 'God' to lead us to make the "best" choice (not "right" or "wrong," but 'best') and to protect us when we make the "not-best" choice---
I say 'we trust "God",' but really we trust "fellow humans to be led by God to make the best choices."
God is like the owner, while fellow humans are like the managers. And--though all the managers' power comes FROM The Owner--the employees' contracts are made WITH THE MANAGERS (i.e. the managers can 'fire you' without any extra permission from The Owner).

I agree with you god gave us free will. but why the consequences of our choies hold us back ? if it does this is not free will .This is survival, other call it fear.
God like the owner. it seems to me that you are a businessman,we have the same common ground freind. thank you very much

Serving Our Father God gives us a different perspective---rather than 'what will doing this do for me?' we ask 'how will doing this give God a greater glory?' ...
we help a poor man find a meal; we're not thinking 'he needs to pay us for the meal,' we're KNOWING that Our Father God has another follower who can serve Him a little better now
