"your gut may not be getting realistic data from your brain." I underwstand the literal meaning, but could you say it in another way ,simple ,without rhetoric.

Your senses don't think clearly? (e.g. that's not manure, that's sculpted chocolate & that's YOUR fart you're smelling ... or is it?) Another way of understanding Deuteronomy 29:29 (look it up to make sure I'm getting it right). 'What God tells you is for you-only,' not only because 'it only applies to you' but also because 'YOU CAN'T TRANSLATE SOME KNOWLEDGE INTO SPEECH!' Like 'the diddle' (the method by which drummers strike their drums twice as fast as they move): I could TELL you the secret of the diddle, but it wouldn't tell you about the physics necessary to perform the diddle. The only way to do that is to practice!

Your brain may decieve you, so go with intuition? Not sure....

Possibly... Someone here might be able to say it better than those, not sure. Your intuition is not reliable. You can't trust your gut reaction when your brain is telling it differently. Your brain and your intuition do not agree.
