A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves - (Lao Tzu) All of us are leaders. Parents lead their children. Teachers lead their students. Public servants lead their constituents, and so forth. As a leader, we have the responsibility to guide others to the right path. How do we do this? 1. Give hope - nobody follows a pessimistic leader. All of us need to hear a positive result of out efforts. WE need something rewarding to look forward to. Hope is what everybody hold on to in times of hardships. 2. State your values - make it clear to everyone that your moral values comes first in making important decisions. Make sure that these values reflect in your lifestyle to establish a credible stand on your beliefs. Integrity is crucial in playing the part of a leader. 3. Be effective - everyone likes a leader who gets things done. Effectiveness doesn't necessarily mean being a one-man team. Involve others and make them feel important in completing a certain goal. Being a part of a success is an act of appreciation for every team member. However, it's not always a success story. Failures come once in a while but a leader never stops encouraging, pushing, and working towards an objective. 4. Be responsible - assume responsibility for every mistakes, troubles and there's going to be plenty of them so a leader must stand firm in tackling these obstacles. A good leader never blames others but finds ways to solve problems.He/she hates excuses and needs the truth in every matter to come up with necessary solutions. We admit that we ourselves have our own respective leaders we look up to and follow. We also have weaknesses and faults. But it's like a chain of command. There are others who look up to us also and therefore we need to be diligent.

if only everyone realizes the responsibilities you have enumerated and practices them, then the world would definitely be a better place. unfortunately, the 'bad leaders' don't, all they see are the privileges that come with being the one who calls the shots.

One of the tests of leadership is the ability to recognise a problem before it becomes an emergency. Thanks.
