If your ex buys a service in your name

without your permission, is it possible to contact the company and have the service cut off or would that be too easy? Apparently at some point my ex got a phone in my name and didn't pay up and of course it put a small dent in my credit. That is not what I need.

If you were not married, the contract is void. If you were married, you will probably have to pay until the end of the contract.

It was after we were already divorced, but knowing the kind of person he is, he'll probably go and put other stuff in my name.

@cupkitties Then, you have just to prove that you were divorced when he put the contract to your name without your consent to stop it. You have probably the possibility to start an action for damages against him. If you don't want to start it, you can threaten him of an action for damages, to not have the same problem in the future.

Since the phone providers want to sell at anyway, it seems that they don't care to what name is sold the phone service.
