That winter was extremely cold. The damp rain mantled the whole city.Gray sky,and no sunshine.Chunks of thick clouds blanketed the sky.I was inexplicably depressed. Sometimes, tears just could not help trickling down. But after all,it was the end of the year.Even in these dismal days, there always existed something worth celebrating.Streaks of light flashed in the central of drooping canopy from time to time.Accidentally, several flowers blasted at feet, along with a big bang, and the shouting of frolic children. However, the Spring Festival came to my home later than to the streets.Almost every year, lanterns were lit early, and couplets were pasted hurriedly. All years except that year.A sharp contrast was presented between the roar from the streets and the stillness in my home. In the living room, the lights were off.Mom and grandpa were sitting on the sofa.In the dim light, their faces looked like mists. The dark while hushed mood still let me hard to breathe. “Come and see the cat.It has been a long time since you saw him last,”grandpa muttered.Until then,I did not found a small thing was huddling up in grandpa’s arms.I walked towards him,as slowly as being escaping irresistible force. With fingers trembling,I got close to him slowly. I exclaimed in a low voice.Much to my surprise,he was as skinny as only being supported by his skeletons. He was huddling up in grandpa’s arms, trembling, which brought me back to the day I first found him. At that time,he was as small as my hand.Unfamiliar with the world, dread of the world, uncertain about the world and excited to the world,he was sobbing at the corner of the wall. One month later,he became restless while treacherous, running away from home nearly every day.On these black rainy nights, the unsteady drumming of the rain on the roof stirred my dreams. On these hot summer days, blinding sunshine was as dark as the shadow. It seemed that I had got used to finding him and waiting for him. The Spring Festival still did not yet come to the end,so did the roar from the streets and the stillness in my home.
