The comments by the duck dynasty Patriarch are very interesting. I am a black man but I am not going to get upset about the comments about the happiness of blacks before civil rights. Mr. Robertson comes from a different era. A time when it was the standard for blacks in the south to be more docile and not upset the apple cart. Of course that was not freedom. It was a Jim Crow universe where black people had limitations on their activities and dreams and I sure it was a better world for many black people but that world did not help whites grow either because they did not have the free competition from blacks so their world was slanted as to what they could really accomplish. They did not have free competition in sports , business or politics so what they could really accomplish we are not sure but what did happen was not true.
The civil rights movement helped to bring America out of a Neanderthal stage and into a more modern world faster where the whole was starting to compete on more even terms despite colors or heritage.
However the comments being against promoting or encouraging a Gay lifestyle I and many Americans agree with but what should be legal is prostitution and marijuana usage. These hang ups keep us behind in production and moral standard. People who accept a Gay lifestyle have given up on the standard relationship of a human being. Certainly there will be abberations but to accept a Gay lifestyle as standard takes away from a human strength because inheritantly it does not feel right with the way we were created and I applaud Mr. Robertson for his statement.
