why do poeple watch soaps on tv like mad?

there is enough of real sorrow in our lives,but still poeple are crazy about watching tulsi, prerna,and kashish drowning themselves in a sea of tears?

as far as i know it's women folk who take to watching soaps..and i guess it's because of female psycology..they tend to symathize with other womens sorrows more..and be it reel life or real...they are more emotional...and i guess some of them identify with the characters...I don't know why guys would watch soaps..

Those soaps are way to fake and way too full of drama for me. It seems like everybody has been married to everyone on the show and whenever someone is pregnant it is not their significant others child etc.. They are kinda stupid to me

its basically because people are jobless .. they want to go into an unrealistic world .. where crappy things happen .. they want some masala in their life
