A man in Oregon was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after beating another man with his shoe.
The man hired an attorney, not to represent him at his trial, because he plead guilty.
The attorney was hired to represent him in his $100,000,000 (one hundred million USD) lawsuit against NIKE for failing to put a warning on their Air Jordan shoes warning people that they can be used as a deadly weapon.
Sadly the suit will probably be settled by NIKE which will set precedent to other suits of the same kind.
If this happens then if I were Michael Jordan or David Stern be weary of suits against them seeing as they are Air Jordan Brand Basketball shoes. Making both parties Spokesman for the sale of not protective footwear but Deadly Weapons.
Next thing you know people will sue fruit of the loom after they suffered pain and suffering from the result of being given a wedgie.
That is until Laws are passed or Executive Orders are signed that ban such products from being sold, given the current stand in D.C. of it's not the individuals fault for breaking the law it's the products fault for being used in the crime.
Thus making everyone unable to try-on new clothes, if the store allows them in without any shoes to begin with.
And it all began with one guy (probably drunk) talking crap and getting a good old fashion butt whooping with another mans shoe. Or possibly the man was doing to the other man what so many parents need to do to their kids and took his shoe off to spank his ass. Who knows why the man decided to use his shoe, but maybe he decided he wouldn't be able to get as much from a belt company, or was unsure if he would get paid by himself if he just used his fists.
Yet the only reason the lawsuit is allowed to proceed in court is because of the Arresting Police Departments enforcement and labeling of the shoes as Deadly Weapons based on it meeting the criteria of a law that was passed by Politicians.
What can we learn from this? Too vague of laws being passed thus making the shoes a deadly weapon(maybe they do this out of habit)? Too strict of a police station for arresting the man based on what a law says( which they probably never read or couldn't understand if they did)? The man for being a wuss and taking his shoe off instead of using his hands(maybe the other guy was very big)? The other person for being either in the wrong place or instigating the fight(Maybe He just stared too long at the other guys wives butt, or the guys butt)?
Seeing as it starts with the law in place, then blame would definitely have to be given to the people who voted the dumb lawmakers into office, then not holding those lawmakers accountable which allowed laws like this to be made possible, and then voting them back in to office the next election. It all starts with those that have the greatest power of all the power to VOTE!
But then again maybe they condone this sort of behavior because if they didn't but still voted the same way again, and again, well then that would just be INSANE!
And you thought Jordan's were expensive before the suit, wait till after NIKE settles and passes the costs on to the consumer. They say there's a sucker born every minute, well that would be the voter who's kids wear Jordan's because those kids will still get what they want!
