why people prefer only cotton wear in summer season?

most of the people prefer cotton wear sarees,salwars and kurthis in summer season.can u tell me your opinion on this?

I'm not sure; but in my 'unqualified' judgment (i.e. stuff I thought-up/heard-somewhere 
), I think cotton absorbs sweat 'better' than silk or nylon or whatever non-absorbent material other saris are made-of.

According to me, its makes feeling light and comfort in hot and sweaty season. It always better to adapt cotton wears in summers.
