Where is the love?

Tell me if this sounds familiar...
Do you sometimes find yourself surrounded with all these people, family and colleagues,
people you've known for years.
And you just can't help but notice that when you talk, they couldn't care less what you're saying?
Instead they're already thinking about what they're gonna say next!?
That is, if they let you finish your sentence first.
Another favorit technique is the silent treatment, like talking to a wall,
except the wall doesn't have "shut up, don't care"
written all over it's face..
Only when they have heartache ofcourse, you are good enough to listen.
Only thing on my mind is, 'where is the love and respect?
Am I the only one who actually enjoys listening to other people?
No wonder I keep to myself.. talking to Me, Myself and I,
safely contained in my mind, where no one can be bothered.
Don't know about you guys, but I sure am desperate for some genuine peoples in my life...
Or am I being the weird thing duckling here?

Love is a fire which makes food, if it is confined to the gas stove at home, if it comes out, it can burn the homes of others.
Thanks.

It is becoming very hard to enjoy listening to others, actually ,everyone wants to be the focus ,and it's more enjoyable to tell rather than listen with silence. As @Manu has rightly said ,the present competition in the market had attributed to the behavior of people.I think if you notice that it's a common question all over the society, not yours,it will not be a confusion.

I'm a listener too, because of this character, most of time I talking with others, they're talking more, but I think everything has two sides,a person who good at listening is easy to be accepted by other people,as long as you expressed your opinion, that's enough.

i don't think it's weird because i believe when people grow mature it will be hard for them to understand each other because all their old experience has established a boarder between them and their friends.

You are very right that people are not ready to listen to anyone. They are just interested in telling their side of story. To be a good listener it requires lots of patience and people are running patience now a days. However, if you are good listener, you definitely get rewarded for your patience and you learn something new from the speaker (the one who is narrating his woes).
Good Post. Keep it up.

To listen is very hard these days, but every one wants to speak to gain attention. In a gathering everyone wants that everybody listens to them and agree to them. They want to overcome others by any means. Everyone wants to be superior to everybody. I attribute this behavior of people to the present competition in the market. Where every body taught you to be on top by this or that means.
