I swear video games are slowly taking over my life, I can barely get anything done!

I know the feeling. Sometimes video games can be extremely addictive. The best thing you can do is set a limit for myself. I used to play a lot more, but now I can barely get myself to play even though I have an Xbox Live account lol. But maybe that is because I've grown out of it. Anyway, I set a 3-hour-a-day limit. Set this limit and be strict on keeping it. If you break it, punish yourself by not playing the next day, e.g. Setting limits is the best thing you can do to attain better time management. Playing video games can be fun and stress relieving, but playing them to the point of it controlling your life is not good. If you have homework, make the prize for finishing it, getting to play your games. That way you will have something to look forward to. If you play the video games in the beginning of your day, then you will want to play all day and won't be productive. If you get your work done first, then you will be rewarded. A lot of people take video games too seriously too. In the end, what it comes down to is that it's a game and is doing a limited number of things to make your life better. Unless, of course, you want to go into game design and programming. Hope this advice helps!

@JD I like how you showed a solution and in agreement to the fact that game addiction can be a bad thing while at the same time pointed to the fact that games do have a positive side to them if used properly. I suppose what is proper really depends on the individual and their individual circumstances.

It is a choice we make.
