With a few exceptions, there are some huge differences between Mylot and twitter. For one, this site is geared toward discussion which means you can use more than 140 characters. Not so with Twitter. For more information, read here

Great! Much better than twitter... I don't like twitter because the characters are limited. Thank you for the info!
