Refuses To Eat

A close friend of mine is in her eighties, and has had many health problems over the years.
Even though she has had some real ups and downs the past year, she still kept a good attitude about life.
This last trip to the hospital seems to have taken a toll on her. She is refusing to eat most of the time. What can her family say or do to convince her to eat to live?
We are going to get a long time friend, and pastor to visit her again. Hopefully he will pray with her, and remind her to not intentionally take her own life, by not eating.
I would appreciate suggestions, and prayers for her.

In my opinion, the reason that she refused to eat is that she cannot accept the fact right now. Even if she got through quiet a few difficulties. With the time going on, thoughts change . Everyone is bound to confront something frustrating. But it needs time.

Thank you for your comment.
Today she is eating small amounts. The problem is that she has been going for so long, that she doesn't have a lot of time.
We just hope she will continue throughout the day to eat.
I agree that the thoughts can change over time.
