What is myLot?

I just arrived or rather stumbled upon this site. I am not quite sure what it is but since i can do a bit of writing and meet new folks, I thought ,"why not?"
I have tried searching on the home page for more info about writing here but could not get much. Are we paid to write or is it a social site like Facebook? I am not even sure if there is a length requirement.
Anyway, for now it will be my little journal where i will put down my thoughts.
