SGM automatic weather station is an automated version of the traditional weather station, either to save human labor or to enable measurements from remote areas. It typically consists of a weather-proof enclosure containing the data logger, rechargeable battery and sensors. The system may report in several different ways. It may be in real -time via a local link to a computer system or via telecommunications or satellite systems. SGM mobile phone technology has also been known to be used. An alternative is the storage of the information in local data storage such as flash memory for retrieval at a later stage. Most automatic weather stations have Thermometer for measuring temperature, Anemometer for measuring wind speed, Hygrometer for measuring humidity, Barometer for measuring pressure.
