In case of God people say that everything needs a creator. Thats true. But what about religion .Is there any thing which can prove it. Most of the religions are based on claims by certain individuals who call themselves messengers of God. Why should anybody believe in them . They can't prove it. May be they were just hallucinating that God asked them to tell the whole world his message. I am always confused about it. Can you honestly say that you are not and what is your logic to believe in religion.

Religion is the result of your theology or understanding of God. For Christians, this is based the Holy Bible. As Christians, we believe the Bible is the inspired word of God through primary and second cause. We believe it is "God breathed". In the old and new testament days, history was spread by word of mouth from one generation to the next. It was important to people to pass on this story or history accurately. A person can choose to believe what is put before them or not. Faith in someone like Jesus requires a small leap in human logic. We cannot measure God using the scientific process which is gathering information via the five senses. Why does God choose to reveal himself this way? I don't know, but believe God does exist based on cause and effect. Science tells us that for every cause, there is an effect and vice versa. I look at myself here on this earth. I'm an effect of the very 1st or necessary cause. That 1st cause is God.

My problem is I do believe there was some reason the universe was created. For my easiness i call that reason God. But my problem is that i dont seem to to believe in a religion because God did not himself talk to human beings and told them to believe in a certain religion. People who tell you to believe in a religion are Human beings which can lie , cheat or may be they are not lying but just have some misunderstanding or hallucination. They may even be trying to create some political power for themselves. When it comes to believing in Human beings i am not very much in favour of that. I do wish that if i should believe in a religion then God should directly tell me to believe in it with no third person involved.

@gamerman I look at religion like a tool. It's like a hammer or screwdriver. The purpose of that tool is to make me become like God or Jesus. Scripture says, be ye perfect as my father in Heaven is perfect. If the tool doesn't do the job right, get another tool.

Why believe? Why believe in things when you can know about things? Isn't believing just for people who don't know?
