My siblings and I are seriously thinking of putting up a travel agency. Do you think it is still a good idea to put up one, considering the financial crisis we all are experiencing today? Have you already setup your own agency?

First you need to find a travel agency company that you want to work with. for example my uncle is a travel agent and he works with ytb, which is a great TA online because he gets commissions for basically EVERYTHING. So ytb is a good choice for a travel agency but you can always check out others on the internet..

I am a travel agent and I do have my own agency here in Texas, USA. I love being a travel agent. I did my schooling online with The Travel Institute, then I took several distination courses, and received my cruiseline training to get my CLIA license. You must first find a host agency you can work for before venturing out on your own to give you the experience you need and also to help you get all the licenses. Plus you must have errors and omissions insurance. It does cost alot to start your own agency and alot of paperwork to go through. But It has been well worth it I love my job and everyday is an adventure through the eys of my client. If you would like more information, Please PM me and I will try to help you. My company is not MLM as some of the companies that have responded to are. Be careful how you choose a host agency as there is some on the net that will scam you. As well as sites selling travel.

I am a referring travel agent and have my own travel booking website www.ExcellentRateTravel.com. Our prices are comparable or less then the other sites. Actually the other sites have joined partnerships with us.
If you would like to find out more about getting your own travel website, earning commissions, enjoying awesome travel perks, and much more check out www.VacationForSuccess.com

first of all you need to be registerd in the department of trade and indusry (DTI), you can do this by going to makati in U.N. avenue in front of pacific star building. You need to ready your travel agency name at leat three names to choose from. Then register your agency to the municipal government to have a busines permit. Then register to the Bureu of Internal Revenue (BIR).You must also have a working capital for your ticketing and tours. for your ticketing you can seek the help of IATA agencies for the issuance of your tickets and arranging your tours. you can also attend tours expo to widen your knowledge in travel. you can add as many services you can offer like passporting and visa assistance.

i use to work for a small travel agency that prudential life bought for their fly plan.you have to affiliate yourself with an agency first .so you would know the trade and gather your resources and tools to start an agency,or start putting up a blogsite and primarily cater to your friends and relatives then you work your clients exlclusively by referrals.of course you need staffs to run to diferent travel agencies and department offices and fixers to get this done.if you want we can do it together? because i am thimking of putting it up now because of our tourism here in the philippines.
