There are probably as many products on the market today for window cleaning OKC as there are manufacturers for the windows. Some claim they can clean the window and the attached wooden frame without a problem. Others claim that they have the only streak free window cleaner on the market. Several people claim that their homemade products work better than any others and they clean without the toxic chemicals. So who to believe? Who actually has a product that can clean windows without a big fuss or the need to purchase five hundred tools to do it? Which cleaning products that are used at home are best for keeping windows looking great? Vinegar happens to be the basis for several window cleaning products. This is probably why many people who make their own window cleaning solution have decided to use just that product for the job. It is not toxic; well other than the pungent smell. That smell does evaporate though so it really should not be a factor that would detour someone from using it to clean with. Ammonia is another big ingredient in many of the more popular window cleaners on the market today. Homemade window cleaners do not often contain this ingredient as it is very harsh on the skin and on the eyes when the fumes are in the air. While deciding on which cleaning solution to use it may be wise to remember that streaks on the window during cleaning are not from the cleaning solution but made by the person cleaning it. Personally I believe that the homemade solution is much better than any chemically enhanced version that can be purchased in the store. It is not just the green factor that makes the homemade solution better but it is also the cost for the item. An easy window cleaning solution can be made with an empty spray bottle, 2 parts water, 1 part vinegar, and just a squirt of dish soap. Shake the bottle up and viola the window cleaning solution is born. Now to clean the windows so that they are streak free and do not become a magnet for dust and dirt. For this part there are so many different ideas out on the internet that want a person to use old newspapers or even paper towels. Those are great but not really effective for keeping the window looking great as they leave lint and streaks behind. A squeegee is the absolute best product for cleaning windows. Did you ever wonder why auto glass never looks streaked? It is because windshield wipers are made of rubber strips, and this is the same concept for a squeegee. So for small windows try to find a small hand held squeegee in the automotive department of the store, or have someone cut a windshield wiper down to size for you. To clean the window just spray on the solution and using the squeegee start at the top of the window and wipe to the other side of it. Wipe the tool off on a clean rag and do the next part of the window the same as the first. When finished with the cleaning just use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the wooden frame.
