My mother is a Christian, Chinese. All I know about Christian and Christ is from my mother. My mother is a very sincere Christian, and she always tell me to pray for God's blessing. I was not a Christian, and I am not sure I am a Christian or not. Because I still have some difficulty with some aspects about Gold. I want to learn what Christian like in western world. questions like: Do you believe God creat everything in the world? Do you believe God can achieve anything? Do you believe God can help you achieve what you want if only you pray sincerely? and so on...

My father comes from a long line of devout Roman Catholics and my mother was of a Protestant sect, but she is not so hot about going to services or masses. She would sometimes come to church. My wife is also a practicing Catholic but is not so knowledgeable in Catholic catechism. When the kids were young and attended a Catholic school, we would always be in church. I think there is a God or a Supreme Being who may have guided all of creation, not only of this world or of this time. He or she is beyond the realms of our human morality or human comprehension. So in human terms, he does not exist. What churches and religions preach are ideals which people need to adhere. This means, he or she is beyond achieving. He or she therefore cannot grant our wishes or answer our prayers, because it is really up to us to build society that will harmonize all our dreams and aspirations.

Hi MA Jor,thanks for your sharing responses. so from your point of view, God is actually not real person around us, people just follow he or she for comfort. Or actually, people need such a person deep in their heart or in their mind, during those hard times, pepole need someone to give them power or guidance, then they to to church. God cannot grant our wishes or anwser our prayers, we can only rely on ourselves. so what about you? do you find power or benefits of this kind of communication with God? Or you just not go to church?

@BrigittCindy111 Sorry I am back from a very long vacation. Yes, God is a supreme being. Not a person. He cannot answer all our needs. I communicate with the spiritual side not in church because for me it is more af a community praying together to get what society as a whole wants --- peace and unity.

Though it is true that the west has roots in Christian religion, Jesus Christ the person, is neither west nor east? I suspect the world was very different in the time period he was alive on earth. In any case, the message, the words he spoke and people wrote down are for everyone and belong to everyone. "Do you believe God creat everything in the world?" I believe in the beginning God created the universe from nothing. Another name for God is the creator. God did not create a Kia car, it was made by Koreans in Korea. God has something to do with people and their creations, if they wish to know God. "Do you believe God can achieve anything?" I believe God is very powerful and so is God's will. I have trust it will happen. However, there are things God will not do. "Do you believe God can help you achieve what you want if only you pray sincerely?" I believe God's son, Jesus Christ does observe our prayers, does love us and will help us in our life, if we allow and want this to take place. Hope this helps. I am interested in what you @BrigittCindy111 and others reading here, believe or think about, on this subject. Have a lovely day. :-)

@BrigittCindy111 Please give me today my daily bread and forgive me my faults as I forgive the faults of others. Jesus Christ stays with me in spirit. This is a real experience sincerely and very valuable for me.

Hi Bluedoll, I believe you are a devout Christian. You believed that Jesus Christ does observe our prayers, and will help us in our life. So would you like to share with me some of your real experences with Jesus, such as what kind of pray you did and how Jesus responses?

Perhaps you said "western Christ" because a great part of Christians are living in the American continent. But Jesus was born in the middle East, in what today is Israel. However, I think the most important of Christ is his message, his word, that were wonderful. We Christians have faith, but we should try to hold that faith in us. A way to do this is praying and living according the Christian tradition. If you read the Gospel you will learn about Christ and his word. :)
