Why are other people obsessed with other people's money?

I was watching a fashion documentary the other day when somebody commented that the women in the docu were parasites to society. The answer added that instead of buying expensive clothes or things, these women should ‘share’ their money.. As a person whose interest was in the topic of the docu only, I was quite shocked to read this comment. Granted that many wealthy women can buy more expensive clothes and other things that are necessities (and in many cases, access to luxuries), I don’t see a wrong if you are buying what you like. If the money spent was from an inheritance or a legitimate business, what’s wrong in spending that money on one’s self?
I could relate to this. I earn my own money. I buy what I like and what things works for me (as recommended by others). I don’t want spending too much because I do contribute to the house and I need to save for the future. If I am earning a larger salary, I get taxed higher and somewhat I am still obliged to ‘give’ or ‘share’.
In this issue, is it really ‘obsessing’ or being nosy about other people’s money something we posses naturally (or naturally curious about this subject)? Where do you draw the line when people keep asking on how you spend your own money?

I agree with your views. If you have some money by dent of hard work, it is your discretion to spend it, the way you want. Others should not dictate you how to spend or how to save the money, till you ask for their advice. There are many who are in the habit of giving unsolicited advice.

Some people feel like they deserve what others have instead of being happy for them instead. Try think that they are just supposed to get what someone else earned and worked for. They can't make money on their own.

Its because some not all people but some want what other people have because they may not be content in what they have or they want what that person has so by talking about it ithelps them cope with it but also so just think that spending top dollar on high priced things is bad but in reality it dosent matter what they think cause its not there life .
