We are always working as hard as we can to make our patient recruitment efforts even more successful. One of the most valuable tools we have is the annual ACRP Global Conference & Exhibition, which is held each spring. This year, it was in San Antonio, Texas, and we are looking forward to implementing the knowledge, experience, and contacts we gained there to improve our recruitment approach. Back For Another Round Last spring, Clinical List America attended the Global Conference for the first time. We knew right away that we would be back in 2014, sharing notes with the incredible concentration of professionals in the industry. Even though communication via cell phone and email have improved so drastically over the last few decades, there is just no substitute for shaking a hand and engaging in a face-to-face conversation. Gathering industry news and tips from others, in addition to sharing our approach with people looking for solutions, was a highlight of our year once again. Focus of the Conference Our fellow participants in the conference were people involved in every step of the clinical trial process. Our exhibit focused on the all-important subject of patient recruitment, highlighting the incredible results that marketing by mail offers. Many of the sponsors, site managers, and CROs were surprised to learn that recent technological advances in communication have not yet provided a better marketing approach than the postal system. As they return home and pick up the mail that has accumulated in their mailboxes, they will likely be reminded of the fact that a postcard in the mailbox still commands attention, while emails easily get buried or sent to a junk folder automatically. Connections Across the Country While the regular mail still reigns supreme over email in the area of patient recruitment, we are extremely thankful for the technology that allows us to serve clients across the nation. Whether a site is conducting a trial in our home city of Columbia, South Carolina or thousands of miles away in Seattle, Washington, we can develop an accurate, targeted mailing list for them and take care of the entire mailing process. Our national scope is one of the reasons we enjoy the ACRP conference so much; we get to meet new clients from all over our great country and talk to them about how our postcards, flyers, and mailers can help them in their specific communities. Looking Ahead Every year, there are new topics to discuss in the area of patient recruitment at the ARCP Global Conference. If you’ve never attended, you should certainly include this unique event in next spring’s plans. We are already looking forward to the 2015 conference, and this year we collected some more ideas to make our exhibit better than ever. Stop by our booth to say hello and see what’s new! In the meantime, we will be working hard to serve our new clients and implement the new ideas we gathered in San Antonio to make patient recruitment easier and more affordable than ever before.
