I believe this is a very important idea because if the theory of morphogenetic fields is true it implies that any individual human on this planet can affect the behavior of the entire species. Anyone could change the world without trying just by altering their personal thoughts and deeds toward the desired effect. I have heard of experiments with many different animal species where an isolated population learns a new behavior and distant populations all over the planet suddenly begin displaying this new behavior.
I find it interesting he choose the study on rats to describe his theory because we need to alter the thinking of the "rats" in charge. For centuries certain families have owned the banks and corporations, run the governments, run the religions that have propagated the egocentric ideas that currently dominate our society on a global scale. If humanity is a species that wishes to survive then we can no longer afford to be selfish, self centered, inconsiderate, slow witted or short sighted. If this theory is correct it gives each of us great power!
(Added June 1, 2014) The responses to this post demonstrate to me why the world is in such a mess. If I am correct and this morphogenic field is the way we all have power yet no one at all will even discuss it then that level of apathy will assure that nothing improves. The corporate "leaders" want exactly this level of ignorance and apathy to maintain their power base.
Morphic resonance is the connection across time from past to present. Each species has a kind of memory that gives them their form.
