I am not sure what kind of machine you are talking about but in one town where I lived a neighbor had an electric one. It keep popping all night until they turned it off. Lost of mosquitoes could be seen on it and on the floor around it.

There are two types of them . One with the liquid vaporizing liquid and the other is the mosquito racket. I love the racket because I can actually see them fry. They keep thinking we are an endless suply of coca cola. Anyway the vapourizer too works . But needs to be on the whole day. Some how I feel if it is medicine and can kill or drive the mosquito away, it would then be bad for us too because its poisonous fumes. However small the dosage, in long term its going to add up and land us somewhere where we wanted the mosquito to go.

Seems that most are intended to trap and kill.

Most of the mosquite machines use transfluthrin or Prallethrin. They come under pyrethroid group of chemical compounds. They cause paralysis and ultimately kill mosquitoes. They are toxic not only to mosquitoes, but also to honeybees, wasps, fish and some other lower invertebrates. Generally speaking, they are non toxic to humanbeings. If used against user guidelines, they cause nervousness, running nose, irritation and allergy. These symptoms subside on treatment.

I think if the mosquitoes do not go, then they will die
