Different PCB manufacturing companies have different methods of building different printed circuit boards. For instance, single-sided, double-sided, and multi-layered boards are prepared from copper, aluminum, chrome, and nickel, and a particular method is employed for the manufacturing. When engineers finalize printed circuit board design, type of board, and the material required is first finalized; and later the process of mounting of equipment on board is started. A conductive connection is created during the mounting process. Variant methods which are applied by manufacturing companies for constructing PCB board, are discussed below in detail- Conventional: One side mounting process is carried out in this process. As debugging and repairing part can be performed easily in this process, therefore unlike to other methods it is the easiest one to be performed. Surface mount technology: When constructing lead of components on the board, generally, this method is used. During this method, holes are drilled in the board in order to give proper placement to the leads. Combination of conventional and surface mount method: Generally, this method is used for practice purpose, as application of both the methods causes problem later. Double side laminate: Boards which are to be drilled on both the sides is done by the process of double side laminate. This process is the easiest out of all and can be performed by both technical and non-technical professional. Double sided component assembly: For components like LED’s which are to be mounted on board, they require application of special method called double sided component assembly. Gold-plated: Usually boards are plated with aluminum, copper and nickel, but in some areas of PCB are to be plated with gold, which is only possibly done by electroless gold and electrolytic process. Silver plating: Making use of gold, during the plating method is a costly affair. An alternative to it and cost effective plating method is silver. Flexible PCB: This method is taken into picture when equipment like cameras is needed to be placed on the board. This board comprise of membrane keyboards, circuit boards and combined circuits or connector boards. Chip on board: For mounting additional features on the board like musical cards, toys and calculators, chip on board method is applied. Wires are directly over mounted on PCB board from IC connect. Daughterboard: This is used when one circuit board is attached to another board just like plug in cards.
