That is a superstition. I love the number 13 as I said in another post. My best days are Friday the 13th. If you walk under a ladder is something bad going to happen to besides maybe the paint can or tools falling on you?

No, I don't think that it's unlucky at all. Neither is Friday the 13th. I think it's funny when people get worried on that day, there's nothing to worry about. And also, 13 is my lucky number.

I don't think it is a bad number. But when I see it the thought of being an unlucky number does cross my mind. Like, if I'm at the grocery store and that's the lane I end up on. I shrug my shoulders and watch to see what happens. Sometimes I don't even pay attention to it. It hasn't been unlucky for me. Friday the thirteen scares me a little.

Lenith (response 1) has given some wonderful incidents which as far as I know are all true incidents. But still I think this is superstition. But what is the explanation for the incidents that Lenith has given. It is like this. If you want I can give a long list of disasters involving number 14. Similarly if someone says 7 is lucky, I can give any amount of disasters involving number seven. I was in the school boarding in 1970. The number 13 was the talk of the season because of the Appollo 13 mishap. That year my dormitory number was 13. I asked my father what I should do about it. He too was not into superstition and told me not to worry about it. In fact that was my best year and I got flying colours in all the examinations.

no that is not true at all...that idea is just a nonsensical belief raised by old time people...

You only have bad luck when you are scared of failure , not superstitions !
