Rambabu (Venkatesh), a cable TV operator, his wife Jyothi (Meena) and two daughters Anju (Kruthika Jayakumar) and Anu (Babu Ester) is a middle class family living happily in Rajavaram village near Vizianagaram. Naveen Kumar (Sameer) is the SI, Narayana (Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao) the head constable and Veerabhadram (Ravi Kale) is the corrupt constable in the Rajavaram Police Station. Most righteous Rambabu and Veerabhadram are two opposite poles and are never in good terms with each other. One fine day, Varun (Roshan Basheer), the son of Police IG Geetha Prabhakar (Nadhiya) and Prabhakar (Naresh) who is indeed a spoiled brat, blackmails Anu and Jyothi with a nude video of Anu (that he picturizes in a school tour) for his sexual pleasure. And subsequently he goes missing the same rainy night. Rambabu comes to know of this the next morning. So, how did Rambabu combat the investigation, how did he rescue his family from this complicated case and above all, what happened to Varun that rainy night forms the plot of the story. Venkatesh: He deserves an ovation for such an attempt because his presence does make a difference for the advent of good and new genre films in Telugu. Only stars like him can pioneer this new drift. Venkatesh once again proves why he is one of the few exemplary actors of Indian cinema. He portrays the character of ‘Rambabu’, a common man and caring father with ease and panache. He makes you emotional, keeps you thinking and biting nails at the edge of your seats all through the film. Meena: She adds both beauty and value to this suspense drama with her able acting. She re-created the magic of her chemistry with Venky once again in this film. Nadhiya: She in fact outperformed her counterpart (Asha Sarath) in the Malayalam original version. She was a delight watching as a shrewd cop yet a grieved mother. Ravi Kale: He is the most favorite baddie of Tollywood. One shall love to hate him as the corrupt Cop ‘Veerabhadram’ in this film – such brilliant was his performance. Kruthika & Baby Ester: These two budding young talents are a must watch in this film. They gave their impressive best on par with the stalwarts in the film. Roshan Basheer: One cannot forget this guy who did a brilliant job as the missing guy ‘Varun’ both in the Malayalam and Telugu versions. Saptagiri: He does a subtle comedy but brings much value to the film. Naresh, Sameer, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Chaitanya Krishna, Chitram Seenu, Viswanath, Uttej and others have given their best in this intact and engaging drama. Drushyam is a new genre film to the Telugu audience. An engaging and entertaining story has always won the hearts of Telugu people and Drushyam exactly does the same. With its own flaws, this film manages to entertain the audience with its dosage of suspense, thrilling, sentiment and fun elements of an ordinary family in an extra-ordinary manner. Drushyam is an exemplary drushyam to the Telugu audience. Source: Iqlikmovies
