Do You Love Your CrockPot?

I love using my new slow cooker. It has a lid that seals completely as well as a digital timer and temperature setting. What is cool is that when the item is done cooking for the set time, the temperature will drop to warm and the slow cooker will keep the food warm for 3 hours without further cooking.
My previous slow cooker had a temperature knob for high and low and off. The lid was glass and did not seal very well.
I love the convenience of "set it and forget it" and the ease of having a meal ready to eat at meal time.
I have made barbecue chicken, sausage and peppers and even lasagna in my new slow cooker.

I do love my crock pot. But I really need to use it more often. I don't because I usually don't decide what I want to eat 4 to 8 hours ahead of time. My friend told me to put fajita meat in the pot in the morning and by dinner time you just need to break out the tortillas.

In that I have to watch what I am eating, on Sundays, I like to cook something in the crockpot so that I have my lunches portioned out for the week. Today was the perfect day to make split pea with ham soup. My mother used to make that soup all the time when I was younger, it is certainly one of my favorites.
