A rigid coupling is a unit of hardware used to join two shafts within a motor or mechanical system. It may be used to connect two separate systems, such as a motor and a generator, or to repair a connection within a single system. Flange couplings are typically used in pressurized piping systems where two pipe or tubing ends have to come together. This coupling is having two separate cast iron flanges. A flange is provided with a shroud which shelters the bolts heads and nuts is called protected type flange coupling. Each flange from duplex steel fittings manufacturers is mounted on the shaft end and keyed to it. The two flanges are coupled together by help of bolts and nuts. The projected portion of one of the flange and corresponding recess on the other flange are help to bring the shaft into line and to maintain alignment. The connecting methods for flange couplings are usually very strong because of either the pressure of the material or the sometimes hazardous nature of materials passed through many industrial piping systems. Most flange couplings like duplex steel flange supplies utilize four, six, or up to 12 bolt assemblies. High thread count nut-and-bolt connections are used to secure the flange couplings in place. These nuts and bolts are usually made from tempered steel or alloys to provide enduring strength and the ability to be tightened to the utmost level to ensure the piping system doesn’t leak at any flanged junction. This coupling prevent catching clothes of workman. This Flange coupling is most accurate and rigid and need to stainless steel forged flanges wholesale. This provides the strong connection between two shafts. It is used for heavy power transmission at low speed.

Hey, that's very interesting and very thorough. What would you say the psi for failure of that unit would be? Can that unit be used in desalinization? Would there need to be a protective coating added to prevent corroding of the metal?

Thank you for your comment. I think there need to be a protective coating added to prevent corroding of the metal. I'm sorry I don't know the psi for failure of that unit
