haha...i grew up on adobo...my sister always said that we always have to have shoyu, vinigar, pepercorn and garlic in the house...if we didn't we wouldn't be a good filipino family...its such an easy dish to make. i remember when my sister made it one time, she forgot to stir it and it was burnt adobo...

ADOBO!!.... great Pinoy style of cooking. But it is not limited to meat adobos. We have adobong kangkong, adobong pusit, adobong danggit, etc. etc. but I love most adobong "wild duck". But it is rare now cause wild ducks are migratory birds that are mostly protected by conservationists.
Adobo, the well known to Americans.

i'd just like to know, are you an american? if you are, then welcome to the club of adobo lovers! and it's so heartening to discover a non-filipino who loves this dish as we do and at the same time knows as much about it, too! thanks for your input!

Adobo is one of my family's favorites its not hard to prepare and most of the ingredient are cheap enough to afford even by typical families. But what is the good thing in adobo is when the meat is already gone and only sauce left, you can still make a good fried rice by mixing it and "bahaw". That kind of dish I love to make and eat whenever we do adobo.

Of course, who doesn't. Andbesides, it's relatively easy to do. Just put everything in a pot and let it boil. You have have to be able to put the right amount of ingredients---not too much vinegar, not too much soy sauce. Many foreigners also like it.

Gosh! just reading through the responses made me feel hungry. hehehehehe....
I love Adobo!! Specially if the pork is cooked at just the right time and it's so soft that it feels like it's melting in your mouth...
And yes, it goes great with fried garlic rice....
but... my doctor wouldn't approve of me eating too much of it...

I like adobo. It's one of the easiest and fastest food to cook. You can't never get sick of it. My family don't even like to eat left over, but they will eat adobo left over.
