CAN SCIENCE STUDY THE NON PHYSICAL THINGS?

There is a common coception of public that science is not able to sudy non physical things. If science steps in to this field I think that many perceptions, misunderstandings and superstitions will be washed away from the non questioning society who follow anything blindly.
I want that the shut eyes of the public who believe anything without the use of their brain will come in to the light of science. WHAT IS THE USE OF THIS ERA OF SCIENCE IF THE SCIENCE IS NOT ABLE TO ERADICATE THE SUPERSTITIONS OF THE IGNORANT SOCIETY. I REQUEST THE SCIENTISTS TO BRING THOSE BLIND LIVES IN TO THE LIGHT OF REAL KNOWLEDGE.

science is for the materialistic world. so please don't say that science can study everything. science gives you facts or reasons. but in this world everything is not matter few things are there for which you cannot give reasons which are not are pure spiritual. so sorry i am not agree with you sir.

I too agree, science has limitations. There should never be a quarrel between science and spirituality. The two could live in harmony. I believe God and science get along magnificently.
The worldly religions though sometimes will have conflict. Whether a religion is a strictly faith based religion or a scientifically based religion, they often can develop antagonism for each other.
May there be peace in the world.

I am not sure how to interrupt what you are feeling? Do you appreciate disagreement or find it disturbing? What time is it there in India? For me it is 4.30 pm, time for dinner. Maybe, it is time to turn up the stove. LoL
Yes, we can say we are part of a great crowd, a human race that uses technology and we can be thankful for our blessings. I also think we can appreciate spirtuality but need not live without science to do so.
I think science need not be an enemy to our living. True there is much we can learn and much we can do to understand spiritual things. If we have a good heart can seek in our own way to live a reasonable life.

Thank you very much for showing your disagreement with my thoughts and science so meekly.
Necessity is the mother of invention. Can we live even for sometime without science? The instruments of science as phone, television, aeroplane, train, motorcycle and bus and many other things are used and called wonders of science. We can not live without fan and coolers. We all really hypocrites, we all love materialistic things but tell others that we love spiritual things.
We do not know even a, b, c, d. Of spirituality and show off a lot. Every time demand materialistic things but never accept the reality which is present just before our eyes.We can not be a great saint by saying these things.I am also a part of the crowd howsoever much I deny but I will remain the part of the crowd because afterall we all are human beings.

Identifying false superstitions will be a benefit to many and science can handle this. Unfortunately science can also be used improperly as well. For example, some in the science community want to regard religion a superstition and prove creationism and therefore God is a myth by scientific means. Science needs to be also questioned in my opinion.

Science is organised knowledge and common sense. The main function of science is to teach to doubt.I agree that the man of science believes in justification, not by faith, but by verification.
If people's faith about religion and superstitions is right, the clear explanation should come from the scientists, if wrong it should also be verified by science. Why should the wise and logical persons should believe in these unverified things in this era of science.
Thanks a lot.

Thank you for the great postings,
I can answer that last question clearly. I hope it was a question though a question mark did not appear in the last sentence. I think people need to question always but can believe in what they want without discrimination or resentment providing they are not hurtful to others.
I have experienced people on the internet that use science to convince others that God is not verifiable and therefore a myth. I disagree with this logic and do not require science to confirm my knowledge about God. I also request others to respect my belief without calling me an idiot, stupid or a moron. I am not saying you did at any time, please, I am saying here that some people on the internet have.
It is my understanding based on knowledge of the bible and my experience with spirituality that has led me to believe without doubt that God does indeed exist.
I will not accept anyone's rationalization that belief in God is not a common sense understanding and needs to be justified by science.
We need to remember that it is not science itself that is dictating what people should or should not believe but by individuals that debate various belief's using science as an aggressor. (I can explain that if you like)
I am not saying that you can not have different beliefs than myself nor that you are responsible for everything vile in this world. I am simply trying to get you to think about something you wrote from another point of view.
Please enjoy the nice we have.

I like your excellent thoughts and thanks a lot for them.
Suspicion is far more apt to be wrong than right and superstition is the senseless fear of God and poison of the mind. To carry piety to the extent of superstition is to destroy it.
I mean to say that there should be a scientific base to believe something so that in due course of time the belief should never be shaken. I cordially respect all the religions and religious books but my heart never allows me to believe blindly in this modern era of science.
Francis Bacon says," In all superstition, wise men follow fools."Robert Burton says," Sickness and sorrows come and go, but a superstitious soul hath no rest."
St. Thomas Aquiris says," Three things are necessary for the salvation of man, to know what be ought to believe, to know what ought to desire, and to know what be ought to do."
