really optimistic attitudes towards life, but...daily reminder that you can't take the above sentences as an excuse for inexertion when facing problems

I completely agree with you, there should be no excuse in anything, but it's just a bit of motivation that people shouldn't dwell on anything too much and think that their life is over, when there is so much to look forward to because greater is ahead of us all.
