A Salute to the Working Dogs In the Line of Duty

K-9 dogs are regular canine officers we see on many crime scenes all over America and in the world. We see working dogs whose profession were assistance to the men and women in uniform as fierce and brave dogs ready to battle it out with villains and criminals. We see them valiantly in pursuit over lawless individuals and law violators. These are the K-9 police officers. They share equal limelight during crimes and community hostilities. They can very well pursuit a bad guy at the command of their partner officer. They may never have a gun to poke on criminals but they certainly have a set of steely ripping fang teeth to kill an aggressor equally lethal than any bullet fired from a gun. But just like any living creature, dogs are like us humans, they can still felt pain, grief and can likewise get sick and is not that invincible and immortal. Their valiant contribution for the community’s peace and order cannot be measured. It is therefore fitting that we at least recognize their good deeds just like how we accord our fallen human heroes be it in war or peace time. Aside from full military Honors, a fallen K9 hero will be honored and listed in an official police and military listing or memorial such as the National K9 Memorial. Those who have survived are fostered by either the dog’s partner immediate family or would be taken cared for by its police or military unit during their lifetime. Together with a human police or military partner handler, they go together cracking and busting lawless elements in the community. During encounters, it’s always a do or die situation not only to the police or military personnel but the K-9 officer as well. Their loyalty and friendship that bond between them was beyond their tour of duty. That even death sometimes cannot make them inseparable. They are both capable of giving up their lives protecting their officer handler or protecting their community. Their honorable and valuable contribution have contributed to the peace and order we are now enjoying. Because of their selfless actions we can enjoy and lived in a better and safer place. As we remember the many men and women who toiled to make a community safe and secure from crime, let us also remember that many valiant canines also lost their lives in the line and tour of their duty for us. Their bravery and heroism will be etched in the history of police and military memorials. Many have ended their watch (EOW) performing their assigned task. K9 dog officers and war dogs are honored heroes who have served and protected and ultimately have given their lives for the sake of humanity. Let their heroic acts be our inspirations and their memories be cherished as we salute them on this day made especially for them. They deserved to be honored and in a most special way deserve the love and care as a worthy reward. They have done their part in our society so well, it is now time to give them back what is due to them since they definitely have earned due RESPECT.
