{Catchy title isn’t it :P} Well Hey! I’m Ash and this is my first article here hope you like it. In case you’re wondering… Yes it is about Importance of music in our lives.
I can’t say anything about music that hasn’t already been said but I’m going to say, rather write them anyway.
Music fuels the mind and thus fuels creativity. Listening to instrumental music challenges one to listen and tell a story about what one hears. In same sense, playing a musical instrument gives you the ability to tell the story without words. Music is also a great tool for memorization. Besides the obvious, Music teaches us self-discipline and time and management skills that you cannot get anywhere else.
Music transcends all boundaries of communication because you can speak and tell stories to someone on the other side of the planet, even though you both don’t speak the same language.
Music can whisk you away on an extended journey. Music can make time feel frozen. Music also has the power to suggest movement.
I don’t know about others but Music certainly is one of the most important things in my life. Music has helped me cure many of my problems and helped me become who I am today. It’s my escape. It helps me up whenever I feel down (yeah, Last line was from a song)
I'll state an example from my own life:-
Last year, My grandmother passed away. There was a tension between us before her demise. I didn't quite treat her right. I might have fought with her a few times for real petty reasons like 'crush-problems' and sharing my room etc. etc. But she never complained. The day before she died I visited with her, she was in hospital suffering from dengue fever. That day I spent a quality time with her, talked to her about random stuff but never did I occur the word 'Sorry' which, I deeply regret now. So, after all this I was is great depression and only two people helped me feel better, One was my best-friend and other 'Music'. Yes, I've compared Music to a person because I think it speaks to us, help us solve problems and takes our pain away. All those two months, I only listened to Linkin Park and Porcupine Tree. For those 3-4 minutes when I was listening to the song, I felt that everything is going to be okay. This is how music helped me. This is just one incidence, believe me there are other incidences too.
I know there are others like me out there who were misunderstood, felt like they were not good enough even for their own parents, those who were judged, those who did self-harm; those whose life was saved by music.
