Comapring job offers

Hi. I am torn between my current job and a new job offer. I have been in my job for six months and current waiting for the renewal of my contract. Although it may take a while for that to happen, I am fully satisfied with the current job as it gives me a lot of benefits (above average pay, near to my home, knowing the people and the workings of my job. The only thing that worries me about my current position is that it is project-based (hence the higher salary and also the possibility of being terminated at the client’s pleasure), my agency and the possibility of being sent to another location (which will add to the expenses). The job offer came when my contract is near ending. It is a position that reflects my course. My misgivings are – the lower pay bracket, the commute and adjusting to new coworkers and working environment. I applied for this position nearly a year ago and I was surprised that they called me back. My mother was very encouraging at this employer because she knows some of her colleagues transferred there. It’s a school and she emphasized that schools are safe employers and I might last longer. I went for the interview and now I have to make a decision. I don’t know where to begin. I tried to make a list but it seems balanced on a glance. There are some good things that I want on the offer but the same can be said for my current job. Granted that my current job seems better for now. I am trying to seek advice from people on what to do. General response is what makes me happy, which can apply on both jobs. I am not sure if I should say no to the job offer. I might want to try to apply there if my current job will be terminated. I know it sounds like a bit greedy but I know first-hand the experience of waiting for employers to call …but nothing came. I seriously need advice.
