Having spent a whole afternoon roaming around XMU, I continued to visit the nearby scenic spots, such as the South Potalaka Monastery, the Baicheng Beach and Zhongshan Road.
If you are a Buddhist, the South Potalaka Monastery would be your favourite as you would not miss those distinctive Chinese ancient temples and would have a chance to witness special rituals there.
As for Baicheng Beach, though small, it's a tranquil place where you can get your heart rest and feel the waves kissing your feet in repose. More importantly, it is close to Zeng Cuo'an(???), a special town providing various accommodations for visitors. What burnishs this town is the night fair there, in which the skills of street chefs and the aroma of their creations always prove irresistible to many passersby.
It is said that every tourist city has Zhongshan Road. The Zhongshan Road in Xiamen, somehow resembles the Beijing Road in Guangzhou, a booming bussiness centre with a large shopping mall there, and of course many unique restaurants serving varieties of local foods. Actually, that would be favorable for some of you if you wanna satisfy your shopping itch and taste bud.
Next blog I gonna introduce Gulangyu Island, the most famous trourist attraction of Xiamen, and also my last halt in this adorable city. Hope you would enjoy the journey with me.
