I have an old computer which I brought ten years ago, normally I use Windows XP in it, but I want to use any update Operating system in my old computer. My old computer has 1 GB DDR 2 ram and is has NVidia mother bode.
I want to know that can I use new update operating systems (like Windows 7, Windows 8.1) in my old computer.

It is very unlikely that you would be able to install Windows 7 or 8.1 in a computer of that age. You might get away with running Vista but you would probably need to increase the RAM to 2 GB. It's likely that the motherboard will only be able to recognise/address up to 2GB, anyway.
Microsoft have a small utility which will tell you whether you can install/upgrade to a later version of Windows. You can find it on the Microsoft website.
Often, the best way to go with a computer of that age is to install a good, free version of Linux. This would mean, of course, that any Windows software you use would not work but there are many apps which have compatible Linux distributions, for example, Open Office/Libre Office is a very good replacement for MS Office and there is a version of Firefox for Linux.

This is something I don't get---Operating-Systems (OSs) are designed 'to make use of computers,' but do any OSs come labeled with the names of the computers they were designed on?
