what struck u most about the age of empires series?

i was really struck by the amount of research that went into the making of the aoe series...about the people of the time, the lives they led, the wars they fought, the advancements they made, the gods they worshiped...awesome, isn't it?? what do u say?

yeah the historical stuff is what makes these kinda games really interesting...and, how's american conquest? name sounds interesting anyway :)

i wasnt much of a RTS fan back then but AOE2 was so simple and fun...plus the story telling was great and really gave a feel of playing out the scenarios and stuff

yeah, in fact i actually like playing aoe2 more than aom...truly a well designed game from ensemble studios...
