Well to begin with, throughout the year I ramble about how useless and idiotic type of day this Valentine's day is but I know in few cultures it is celebrated with glory. Basically, Valentine's day to me (as I'm now a bit mature) is about feeling thankful for the person in your life whom you love and he/she loves you back. Here in India, people think that this day is kind of a "Lover's day". But the first thing I do in the morning of V-day is I wish my parents a happy valentine's day (and this year I even cooked for them).
But, yeah, many of us happen to have a "special someone" in our lives for whom we dedicate this whole day. I too have one. We are in a long distance relationship. And this year I didn't manage to get him any gift or so. So I thought of writing to him a letter. And trust me it took me 7 days just to come up with few things that I wanted to say to him.
Since, he is the one for me and he makes my life very special, I thought of dedicating the whole letter just to him and I wrote about how he has lightened up my life in various ways. And I ended it with the very famous "Ever thine-ever mine- ever ours- quote. The letter was just about him. Nothing about "us". Because to me its love......its all about the better half of yours that gives you sooooo much strength and I dedicated that whole day just to "HIM". He gave a sweet reply by saying that it was the best thing I could have given to him :). He is a cutie.
And what I received????? I have got him back in my life and by God's grace everything is going perfectly. What more could I ask from him. He loves me. Thats all.
So, enough about me! What did you give/receive this Valentine's day????? How did you make it special???? Feel free to write your heart out.

Ah wow, that does seem amazing. My partner took me out for dinner, gave me roses and a heart, we had dinner, mains, and desert and some champagne. I gave him a bear, or more a monkey, a BIG one as my nickname for him is monkey, so it is kinda symbolic between us. Was overall a very nice evening, though we do date night at least once a week, so I have Valentines once a week whole year round.

@CJMadden that's lovely! You guys are lucky. You get to meet every week. I will be meeting my boyfriend after like 2 years. This thought just makes me sad as well as excited as I go on planning about the various things we would love to do together.
I wish you all the luck and love for the rest of your lives. Stay glued! :) and thank you for responding :)

Wish you all the best in life. Valentine's day carries different meaning for different people. For some it could be really a special day but for some it could be an normal days like others.
